Description

Ornamental Pokeball model

Simple print, supports not necessary but can help bridging. Glue the parts together or leave the top unglued so you can open it and put something inside

The outer ring is optional, the part just slides over and can be held on with glue

It came out pretty well as sliced by the designer. My only feedback is that at 0.16 layer higher you get the quirky error on the face of the button (see last picture). So, I had to reprint at 0.15 which came out spot on, shown in other pictures. I can also see in the pics from other people they had the same button issue… Also I didn’t like the lack of the button surround, so I designed one that friction fits over the button (FYI the button is glued in from the inside. My button surround then slips over the button from the outside). I think it finishes the item truer to the original 😀 Happy to provide the surround of it helps others with their print. Overall happy. Thanks 😀👍

How did you colorize the gold? Paint afterwards or gold filament? This seems difficult to paint in Bambu Studio.

I had a lot of fun making this one. I couldn't decide which way to have the button so I remixed it a little bit, made it a little bigger so it's push fit and added a push fit infill. I had a bit of stringing at the bottom from the supports so added a slightly enlarged pokemon coin to clean it up a bit: https://makerworld.com/en/models/115213#profileId-123884

This came out so cool! I'm going to make another when I get some gold filament and accent the whole thing! I used Flashforge Burnt Titanium PLA for the Top and accents in the radius insert Flashforge Galaxy Black PLA for the radius insert. Elegoo Black & White PLA for the rest. Printed on my A1 at max quality - took about 20hours of print time. Sprayed Gloss clear on the whole ball except for the center and button, they got a Spray of Matte Clear

I was going to print a little cover plate (white circle) to glue over this and cover it up.

Impeccable, I simply combined the base and the black parts onto a single plate, and printed a small white ring to press-fit around the button, securing it without glue This adds a small detail I felt was missing The whole thing was printed with 02 layers
