Who doesn't know it, the cardboard spool is slowly running out, and the AMS (Automatic Material Supply) is increasingly having trouble using it correctly. Problems arise repeatedly. While the environmental idea of cardboard spools is certainly good, the low weight also brings problems.
There are several variants of spool weights with batteries. However, these can be damaged by constantly changing temperatures (e.g., if the AMS is above the printer) and constant movement and vibration, or they can leak on their own. I didn't want to take that risk. Therefore, I created my own version with screws and nuts.
Weight without Spool: ~233g
Weight with empty Cardboard Spool (e.g. Jayo): ~389,5g
Weigt of an empty Bambulab Spool: ~256g
The best results can be achieved with a layer height of 0.20 or 0.16mm. The thread is optimized for 3D printing, but with too large layers, occasional stringing may occur. These may need to be cut afterward, but functionality should still be maintained.
For infill go with any pattern you like. With additional infill you can increase the weight if needed.
