Description

A really loud, flat whistle that you can comfortably carry in your wallet.

About the Whistle:

With a thickness of only 3 mm, the flat whistle fits in any wallet. Despite its flat design, it's really loud. It is also possible to wear the whistle as a chain or attach it to a keychain.

Sound:

It has a clear double tone. Due to the size, the sound is quite high. But it is enough to get attention.

Dimensions:

43 x 22 x 3 mm

(additional variants 43 x 22 x 4 mm - 43 x 22 x 5 mm - 39 x 11.5 x 3 mm)

How to Print:

I recommend using a nozzle size of 0.4 mm and a layer height of 0.2 mm. Don't use supports. It's very important that the first layer is perfect, because the wall thickness at the top and bottom is only 0.6 mm. If your printer is well leveled, however, there should be no problems.

Troubleshooting:

If your whistle doesn't work properly or you have problems printing a smooth top surface, make sure the layer height is set to 0.2 mm. This ensures that the bottom and top surfaces are printed at the correct thickness. You can also experiment with the perimeter value if there are problems with bridging. Any value between 2 - 3 is recommended. And last but not least, the solid top/bottom layer should be set to at minimum 5 each.

Print time:

~ 10 - 20 min (depending on your settings)

Buy me a coffee:

And if you like my work, you can buy me a coffee. Appreciated! :)

Happy whistling!

Thanks, I already know your model from Printables and did it before with ironing. I had to share the Print Profile for that, love the model!

Glad to hear it. I'm new to Makerworld as of today. :) I'm still trying to find out what the print profiles are all about. It looks like it only works with the Orca Slicer. But thank you for sharing your profile as well.

see pictures. I printed via app and adjusted quantity only. looks awful, unfortunately. even then one where the surface ironing fixed the finish a little > not satisfied. filament is dry. probably fan adjustments required within the profile

Hi, I am not sure what happened to your print, looks like the nozzle hits the prints at the last layer. Better would be using a Profile without changing the amount, to make sure quality is the same. Would it help you if I prepare a adjusted Print Profile with an specific amount of the models? BR!

thanks for your reply. the issue is mid print, when it's printing in "air". the layer has holes and this is being transferred across the remaining layers. I guess the issue is still cooling. I'll try these days and if it's getting better I'll adjust the feedback (with one item at a time)

I do not recommend ironing the 3mm version. If you prefer a smooth surface, sand it down afterwards. Ironing should work better with the thicker whistles (4mm and 5mm) because the top layer are thicker.

It has to do with your filament or machine, not the profile.

overhangs in the middle didn't work and left scars, whistle does work tho but: there actually is loss in quality.
