Description

During my recent trip to Tingatel Castle in Cornwall, UK, I discovered a captivating sculpture of King Arthur positioned along the breathtaking cliffs of the Atlantic coast. Instantly captivated by its beauty, I felt compelled to recreate a digital 3D version upon returning home, enabling me to produce a personalized replica through 3D printing. It's important to acknowledge the original sculptor, Rubin Eynon, as the mastermind behind this masterpiece; my contribution lies solely in bringing it to the digital realm for the 3D printing community to appreciate.

I've meticulously crafted the design with 3D printing in mind, ensuring that it can be printed seamlessly without the necessity for support structures. However, it's crucial to note that the sword's dimensions, being both thin and tall, pose a potential risk of failure if printed on a bed slinger machine at high speeds. Drawing from personal experience, I've printed this model on both Bambu A1 and P1S printers without the use of supports and the A1 was a fail.

Needless to say my profile has supports enabled for the sword to help keep it stable.

Great model, had to slow it down to 50% speed to get it to print on our A1 mini. Printed first in some cheap silk black we had on had, then with Protopasta’s Iron-Filled Metal Composite PLA and rusted it.

@Websll This process works on all their metal filled filaments: 1. Expose the metal powder by either using a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper on the area you want to patina. 2. Mix the following in a spray bottle: 8oz hydrogen peroxide 2tbsp white vinegar 1tbsp table salt 3. Spray the areas you want to patina. 4. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. 5. Rinse it off, and repeat as needed until you have your preferred level of patina.

Is that an Albert Szukalski sculpture?

I don't think so. These are plaster ghosts made each summer at the hotel. Guests are used to pose for them.

Great sculpture!! I print on an A1 mini but I changed a few setting. With the original file the print would take 11h 14mins and uses 132.96g of filament. I change Wall Loops to 2, Sparse Infill Density to 0%, Threshold Angle to 10, and selected Support Critical Regions only. It was finished in 7H 38mins, uses 79.49g of filament, and looks great. Thanks.

Made a two colored version (ground + statue). Used eSun Matte PLA Gray for the stones and polymaker silk PLA Bronze for the statue. Support was easy to remove. Turned out great! Really nice design!
