Description

This contains Settlers of Catan, Settlers of Catan: 5-6 Player Expansion, Settlers of Catan: Seafarers & Settlers of Catan: Seafarers 5-6 Player Expansion.

ANNOUNCEMENT: NEWLY RELEASED CATAN CITIES & KNIGHTS EDITIONS!!

This is a remix of the 3D Settlers of Catan (catan-style boardgame 2.0 (magnetic & multicolor)) and 3D Settlers of Catan: Seafarers by Dakanzla (seafarers 2.0 (magnetic & multicolor)) made so you can now print Catan and all the expansions to play Seafarers with 5-6 people on a Bambu Lab printer! This contains the same filament colors as Ty Robbins' Settlers 3D. I used the same coloring for filament colors as them. I remixed the parts to make it so people can create Seafarers all in one project.

Some of the parts in this model are optional:

  • Warship Maker V1 (print at .08mm layer height), Warship Maker V2, Cloth Tokens, Forgotten Clan, Undiscovered Land Token Top & Bottom and Undiscovered Land Tokens are all for various scenarios outlined in the Seafarers Rulebook.
  • Water Island Landscapes are alternate water tiles that have small rocks in it purely for decoration.

Tips for printing & assembly:

  • If you want to create larger boards for Seafarers, you may need to print more Water Landscapes,
  • If you want to add magnets to the bases, I used 2 boxes of these 3x3mm neodymium magnets and inserted 2 into each slot, while pressing it in with a cover. This assembly video may help with this process.
  • To get the most detail out of the model, turn on variable layer height for some models, especially the Water Landscape & Harbor Water Landscape.
  • To waste less filament, turn on purge into infill, and consider purge into object to create unique colors of cities, settlements, ships, tiles, etc.

This contains Settlers of Catan, Settlers of Catan: 5-6 Player Expansion, Settlers of Catan: Seafarers & Settlers of Catan: Seafarers 5-6 Player Expansion. If you haven't printed anything yet and want to play Seafarers with 5-6 people, print this. For a full table of the Catan editions and expansions, refer to the table below:

Everything printed nicely. For the base plates I recommend scaling the small bits to 103% or 104% so they lock in (makes it less fiddly to insert magnets). We will be playing this sunday and i will update the pictures. EDIT: Updated pictures

Ay I just got to see the pictures now! The Gridfinity organizers you created seem to be working wonders there and it looks like you had a ton of fun playing it, cheers!

Thank you for the suggestion on bumping the scale on the small bits. I'd done the first few at stock size and got really tired of needing to superglue 75% of them and this solved that.

By this do you mean the magnet covers? The base and covers for this are one STL, did you print them from a different file to scale up? Started mine today and would like clarification before doing that part. ETA: In bambu studio, select the bases, and seperate into parts (twice). New to bambu.

Absolutely awesome model. I printed mostly on adaptive at pretty high resolution (0.8-0.12 on almost everything) on a 0.4 nozzle. Made a few poor color choices (and reprinted) but am incredibly happy with the results. I got the resource tiles from a similar catan model that fits in a bookshelf case. Took a month or two to make. Love the magnetic system, but was admittedly tedious to glue like 100x6 magnets in place lol. Worth it in the end.

Woah!! The pictures came out great and the details you managed to get out of the model by printing at a higher resolution look awesome. I see you slightly recolored the Ore tile to have a white peak and used a Sheep tile with a bunch of sheep! Thanks for sharing pictures and I hope you enjoy playing Catan!

Its so difficult to find a decent dark green though :( somehow you only get olive or military khaki green if you look for dark greens. Some WIP pictures (ignore the blue box for the green pieces, I will color match) Also I had to use mate grass green for the pieces so I could use bambulab green for the trees. I ordered decent dark green and I might reprint the green pieces with the bambulab green.

Woahhh that's sick. Not sure Ive seen anyone do a gridfinity organizer for this yet. As for colors, yea I feel you there. There's so many colors out there so getting the right colored filament can be annoying

Awesome to have the full game combined. I only took 1 star away because I dont think my complaints are significant enough to do more. But I do have 2 problems with this print profile. 1 - File causes Bambu Studio to lock up if I try to get rid of a plate due to how full the file is. 2 - There are a ton of plates. But maybe should be split into more plates. The way things are arranged causes more filament switching/waste than necessary. I would move any 2 color parts to their own plates.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I would like to address the problems you mentioned: 1.When I delete a plate, it usually takes a few seconds for the parts to be moved to the "outside" of the build plate (a plate-sized space after the last build plate) but does not lock up. It also takes a few seconds when I delete a lot of parts. I have good specs in my PC (Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia 3080, 32gb of RAM) to render the models. Maybe more resources in your PC need to be given to the slicer to not lock up? 2. Ideally, I want to add more plates to save space and potentially more filament, but there is a limit of 36 plates to use in Bambu Studio and I'm already at 36 plates. IIRC, doing two colors at a time for a set of Settlements, Cities, and Roads creates very slightly more filament waste than one at a time, but then again, there's not enough plates to fit each color on one plate each. I could mention it in the description under "Tips for printing & assembly" to have users be aware of this.

I have a maxed out MacBook Pro 16" with 64Gb RAM and M1 Max processor, so it might also be something with the Mac version of Bambu studio.

Wanted to post an update, this was a problem with Bambu Studio, the issue was resolved in the 1.9 update.

these printed fantastic. I think you're missing the harbor sheep in the complete edition. you had them in your other print profile but not this one so I grabbed them from there. I did the full 5-6 + seafarers.

Ah yeah I had to move the Sheep Harbor to the Sheep Base (Plate 16) because there weren't enough plates (36 max) so its super easy to miss it. I LOVE how many sheep you have on your sheep tiles haha. Thanks for sharing pics!! Its awesome to see a finished product!

It took some time, tip to print the inserts for the tile bases on 103% was handy to save time and glue. went looking for storage options and ended up designing and laser cutting my own box and combined in with the storage solutions from other designers.

That box is so cool!! It even swivels out and has a ton of space for the other parts of the board game! I'm humbled that my organizer trays made it to your own box. Thanks for sharing pics and enjoy playing Catan!!

Been a massive exercise printing this. Have learnt a lot though. I designed a custom box and smaller ones to fit all the pieces. gave to our son who is a Catan fanatic and he absolutely loves it!

The box came out really sick! It definitely adds a lot to the charm of the set. I'm glad to see a bunch of pictures of more finished projects, its awesome. I also see that you took a pic of the same board setup as the one I put up! :D

Any chance we could get the files for the lasercut/engraved box somewhere? It looks awesome and I've been trying to work out a storage solution that's nicer looking than the sterilite containers.
