Description

Dont ask, and you shall receive! Introducing the Pickle Sickle, a collapsing curved short sword located neatly inside a plastic pickle!

You people enjoyed my previous food based weaponry, so I've expanded the collection once more. This time in pickle form.

You can tell by my pics that my pickle is a bit off color… I ran out of the nice green I had during the testing phase and had to use Sunlu Meta Green.. not my first choice of green for this project but it's still pretty pickly so it'll do!

All you need is a can do attitude and 4 - 6x3mm magnets and before you know it, you'll have your new favorite pocket pickle sickle.

Fun fact: I went with sickle in the name purely for the rhyme.. it's clearly not a sickle.. but it's a curved blade so.. close enough.

P.S. I've included a simple little display stand on plate#2 of the profile so you can really highlight how awesome it is on your shelf.

Enjoy!

Please help! my sword part won’t come out. adhesion issues??? I tried using BL (Bambu Lab) grease but it didn’t work. 😐

Hi, this is likely bed adhesion issues and the blade pieces broke away during the print causing a fused mess of filament where there should be separate blade sections. Try printing with a clean bed and add a bit of adhesive. Check on the print around 50% & 75% before it finishes the blade pieces and see if they are printing nested but clearly separate pieces.

Very nice silly little print- I was looking for something to test curved print-in-place blade and this one was perfect and funny :D. I chose 3-color filament and I can recommend it, since the blade is super cool with it, but remember that there is no way to make the colors match on the top and bottom part -as you can see on the first photo (unless you print the top upside down- which will probably affect the quality).

Looks cool! I bet if you rotated the top piece 180 it would match better

hey it looks like your first layer didnt stick at all for most of the blades.. would recommend you watch at least your first layer or two to improve your print success rate. You'll need to work on your adhesion issues.. Clean your print bed with soap & water OR IPA before each print and add some bambu liquid glue to increase your odds of success!

oh that doesn't look even remotely safe for work lol

I seem to be having the same or similar issue that many others are having. My Sickle part isn’t extending properly. for some reason, in mine, there are some lines on the outside. not sure how that happened. anyone have any ideas? I separated most of the pieces with a knife, which is why it looks like it does from the top.

bed adhesion most likely. The blade pieces are coming loose from the bed and then wobbling around and fusing the pieces together as it's printing. Check the print at like 30%, 50%, and 70% completion to see if the blade sections look defined and separate. Another possible issue is over extrusion, consider calibrating your filament. good luck!
