I would like to present you my latest model, it is a Caterpillar 6020B mining excavator which I have been designing for over two weeks, including prototyping.

This is an advanced model due to the design of the tracks. It is best to print them from regular pla as it will allow you to remove the supports relatively easily. The model is adapted for rotating tracks, you only need to drill a hole in the wheels and then screw in a screw that will lock them.

If you have a problem with any part, please write to me or leave a message

Very hard to assemble this with no proper instructions/more pictures.Tracks do not fit. Since I'm also a designer, here's some tips: make female and male connectors, that way when you are gluing pieces you make it very precise. Files are missing from the raw model folder, I tried adding them to fusion 360 to make a model out of it, but with no success. I'll be happy to change my review once there's a manual/more pictures or a cad file. Appreciate the work tho!

I have found similar issues with the majority of his files. Tolerances aren't quite right, assembly areas are to small and break and as stated above there is no manual. because we are installing these designs without snap fittings and using super glue, there is no way to start new. Also this is NOT a KIDS TOY! beware if you decide to make this for your child.

tolerances are gonna be due to your printer not bei bf calibrated the exact way his is.

Thank you for sharing this excavator model. The aesthetic appeal is evident, and the overall appearance of the model is commendable. Overall, I appreciate the opportunity to free downloding this model and acknowledge the effort put into its design. Nevertheless, for future endeavors, I would opt for a model that not only boasts aesthetic appeal but also incorporates functional elements to provide a more realistic excavator experience. The glueing was a mess.

in your colored print profile did you do any fixes? I am printing the original and there is an extra cut of the doors in the back. I notice it's removed on your print. there are also more pins on your plate for the hydraulic cylinders, I counted 13 and I seem to be missing some from the original print. Did you change any of the tolerances for you print so the pins fit better? then again I haven't finished printing or putting it together so I might have things mixed up. I'll provide more information after I finish all the prints.

Hello, I left out some parts because I didn't understand their purpose. I added some pins as there were some missing in the original. I didn't adjust them but trimmed them afterwards, slightly heated with a lighter, and then pressed them together. To be honest, building the model wasn't enjoyable.

It’s extremally hard to design model like this to be easy to assemble. I tried to optimize every part of the design but the point is that every printer prints different. On some printers pins are perfect size, on different printers their sizes are wrong. My only idea is to make them print in one, non moving part

hallo - i'm ready printing and i was glueing till now ... glue ... dry ... glue :)) seing growing is also funny thing :) By the way i love your Figures and Models like t284, snoopy or Charly Brown - my first Prints of your efforts - Thank you very much! All this Plates are a little bit difficult. Cause there are some little parts missing : 2x cat6020.stl Chains / Plate 12 and one piece three bolder 5.stl / Plate 2. So the parts: body177, ..179 all together are 6 pieces , but 10 are necessary: 4x 5mm(diameter): 3x length 40mm, 1x 55mm and 6x 4mm(diameter) 1x55mm , 1x45mm, 4x35mm.This is no problem to print all twice or third :) solved within Bambulab Studio ... also their demensions are easy to change to your needs .... nice to learn for me as newbee in cad, slice and print in Bambulab :) Next i'll try Cat 930M, Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble - the old stars :) Hope the Tips helps to enjoy this lovley Model besides little problems easy to solve...

Now i'm ready. One more very importing Tip! !! glue the cabin and their roof at least!!! The Hydraulic of the big arm needs a lot of space. IT isn't good idear to glue the cabin Like the bottom Tell you and/or glue the roof Central to the cabin !!! Move cabin 5 mm to the outer Edge of model and the roof closed to cabin.

Print came out really good 1st time for 99% of the parts. Used eSun PLA+. Lots of time and effort went into this design - great work - love the bucket design (best part in my opinion). A couple of parts needed tweaking (Stairs too short, pins diameter and thickness) all in all it worked well. I modified the pins, and designed a few caps for the pins so the arm would move. So now the tracks, body and arm all move. This was a gift for my brother and he loved it.

Thank you. Very beautiful model, but assembly is a nightmare! There are no instructions, a lot of glue, no connecting elements, and gluing the railings and stairs just finished me off. Some elements had to be slightly altered or modified...

These models you do are extremely nice. And you give them away? You should be selling them, just sayin'...! I know the community here is to "share" but these are way and above that. You do great 3d printable models. :)
