*Update: I noticed that an additional print profile was added for this model without any real modifications - outside of what material was pre-selected. That material is not suitable for in-car use. If you are using this model for inside your vehicle, I recommend only using filaments that are suitable for potential high temperature environments, so please pay attention which profile you are downloading. All the profiles I have uploaded (marked “by designer”) have been tested and optimized for the respective material. In addition to my original ASA profile, I have now uploaded scaled and optimized profiles for PETG HF, PETF Basic, and PLA (only for interior use on webcams or other use-cases that do not require high temp stability).

I designed this sliding camera cover for Tesla vehicles. It is very similar (I would argue much better) than the ones you can buy everywhere online for $0.50 - $5.00 (depending where you shop). You will still need to buy thin double-sided tape.
This cover works great for laptop webcams too and would likely not need to be printed in ASA given it won't need to resist high temps.
Print this sliding camera cover in 4 minutes or less (on an X1C using ASA at 0.08mm layer height).
In the project file I include 2 of the sliding cover component - this is because I print using a textured plate and this would give you two options. You will have one version of the cover that has a textured surface (more grip) and another with a smoother surface to match the car interior.
Be very careful removing from the plate as these pieces are less than 2mm thick - I suggest removing with a razor blade. To assemble, simple press fit the sliding component into the base. Make sure the side with the slots faces the top when press-fitting.
When you're ready to install in the vehicle - I recommend you pull up the Service menu and click into Camera Preview and select the interior camera. This way you will be able to better determine how to position the cover such that the frame is not blocking the camera's view when cover is open.
On a personal note - I ended up not installing any camera cover in my car because:
