Description

This is a 3ft Grinch that my wife asked for, she thought I was kidding when I said I could :)

I've had several issues with this model as it came from a file that had been badly edited, I would link to it but I've done that much work to this that the original uploader I feel shouldn't have uploaded it.

Its along print that has many challenges to it including overhangs and supports to which there is plenty.

The hands you will need to create your own support structure as they can be printed in several orientations to optimise speed this also applies to the legs.

I would suggest using a brim on the bigger parts.

You will have some post processing to do this as the fittings were not ideal but they do work. If you want to make any edits feel fre as long as you share your work.

Most importantly enjoy :)

On my side, the shoes fit well in the legs, but not in the body, I had to modify them, same for the arms. The hat needs to be lowered to 100 percent in the dimensions and not 103. After gluing and sanding, which I don’t enjoy doing.

Yes I also had to do a lot of modification to this model, just to get it to this stage. It was even worse, the legs were different sizes/lengths arms wouldnt even fit the peg holes let alone any where near lined up. the feet holes were to big and not deep enough as well.

I made this weeks ago and loved it. I decided I had to find Max. I found him but was small and green. Using Bambu I painted it and finally got it printed.

came out amazing the smaller version, so i had to print the 3 ft version. AWESOME job, i too also had issues fitting the legs into the butt, and the arms into the torso, but it all worked out.

Hello. Thank you for sharing the model. I printed all the plates and started sanding. I have a question: I have a lot of misalignment between the pieces, for example between the head (plate 16) and the hat (plate 17), it seems that one piece is larger than the other. Could you also share how you fixed these fitting problems? Thank you

The hat is scaled to 103%, I found this out after printing, I scaled back to 100% and reprinted it will now fit. Awaiting painting before I asemble the pieces will upload once complete.

Great thank you. Well, since I couldn't find it, I took my soldering iron and a sander to adjust everything, after a little putty and it should be fine, there's a lot of post-treatment anyway. If I am not satisfied with the result I will reprint.

The arms and legs were still a bit uneven with gaps between the parts. though with a hot air gun and some playing around it all fit together super nice. I know how hard designing joint can be and that's why I'm not gonna lower my rating because end of the day this a great print!
