Description

Unlock the charm of affection with the "Pixel-Heart Keepsake," a uniquely designed 3D-printed trinket that embodies love in a modern, polygonal fashion. This low poly heart is not just a visually striking piece but also a functional keepsake, equipped with a hinged opening secured by a filament latch.

Features:

  • Stylish Low Poly Design: The geometric facets capture light and shadows beautifully, making it an eye-catching accessory for any occasion.
  • Functional Hinged Lid: A carefully designed hinge, crafted with a piece of filament, allows the heart to open smoothly to reveal a small storage space for tiny treasures.
  • Secure Latch Mechanism: The heart stays securely closed with a latch that requires a gentle press to unlatch, ensuring your keepsakes are safe while on the move.
  • Versatile Attachment Options: With a built-in keychain anchor point, this model can be transformed into a charming keychain accessory or worn as a necklace, keeping your memories close to your heart.
  • Perfect Gift Idea: Ideal for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, or as a gesture of friendship and love, it's a gift that can carry a personal note, a small photo, or even a tiny piece of jewelry.

Whether you choose to dangle it from your keys or wear it as a piece of statement jewelry, the Pixel-Heart Keepsake is more than a model; it's a portable memento box for the moments and memories you treasure the most.

Assembly Instructions for the Pixel-Heart Keepsake

Tools Needed:

  • Printed top and bottom halves of the Pixel-Heart Keepsake
  • Filament piece
  • Cutting tool (such as scissors or a sharp knife)

Step 1: Align the Halves Place the two halves of the heart on top of each other as if the heart is closed, ensuring that the hinge mechanisms on each half line up perfectly.

Step 2: Insert the Filament Take your piece of filament and align it with the holes of the hinge mechanism at the top of the heart. Press the filament firmly into the hinge hole, ensuring it goes through both halves of the heart. This may require some force as the fit is intentionally tight to ensure the hinge remains secure.

Step 3: Secure the Hinge Once the filament is pushed all the way through, it should protrude slightly from the other side. Check that the heart opens and closes properly.

Step 4: Trim the Excess Filament Using your cutting tool, trim off the excess filament from both sides of the hinge. Be careful to cut it flush with the edge of the heart so that no sharp edges protrude.

Step 5: Test the Functionality Open and close the heart to ensure that the hinge operates smoothly and the heart closes securely.

Your Pixel-Heart Keepsake is now assembled and ready to be filled with tiny treasures and memories. Enjoy your new charming accessory!

A lovely design for a special gift, though the hole was quite narrow and I had to use a very fine drill bit to insert the filament, the photo shows a test print using black filament

I have printed this three times and each time the hinge has broken. The last two times I scaled it up a bit but it still broke. I don't think the hole for the filament is big enough. I'm going to scale it up and print it one more time. I really hope it works!! I got it to work!!! :)

printed very nicely. Did have a slight issue when I used some filament to connect the two pieces together. One part of the hinge cracked...I'm chalking it up to user error though. Maybe it could be slightly longer though? It looks a little squished 😆 I loved it regardless, so thankyou! ^_^
