Description

Overall, the original model is fantastic and very cute!
But, after printing a couple of them for some colleagues, I decided to make a few improvements:

Increased thickness of the trunk significantly, making it much less likely to snap.
Removed floating layers over the front and rear legs
Increased legs “axles” thickness by 50%, making them less likely to snap (as requested by @ccbailey)

There are still some quite aggressive overhangs over the legs, but at least it is no longer floating lines, which will just end up being stuck someplace else on the model :-)

Printed great and it is cute, but I thought the trunk would be flexible from the looks of it. Is it designed to be printed in TPU from the beginning? why not make it smooth if it’s not articulated? or am I missing something?

Good question, I hadn’t even thought about that. But this is simply a remix to improve on the original design - so I can’t personally speak to the reasoning behind the trunk shape. Perhaps it is just a design choice, with no functional intend :-)

Easy enough print and can easily fit multiple on a even an A1 mini plate. A bit of messiness on the overhangs above the legs but not much to be done about that without a significant rework of the model or supports that are more likely to damage than help. Printed with Bambu Grey PLA Basic
