Description

There is a new version of this tool. Get it here!

A very useful keychain accesory. Only tool out there capable of opening all types of coin deposit locks, without the need for a coin and can be removed immediately.

This redesign of my original Universal Trolley Coin features a strong solid body with a sheath for the special arm, which can be used to open the previously undefeated ‘drawer-style’ locks, as well as a slightly larger 24.5mm coin adapter to ensure maximum compatibility.

Printing instructions

PETG works best, but you can use other materials, even PLA. Generic settings for 0.4n and 0.2l work great, though you might want to slightly increase the number of perimeters, or even use 100% infill. Print as-is and fold afterwards. You might need to slightly scrape the end of the arm to make it fit snugly into the sheath, depending on your printer.

Use in the field

Push-style locks

Most locks out there are of the simple, push-style desing. To defeat these, just insert the tool into the coin slot. Once the lock opens, you can safely remove the tool again.

Drawer-style locks

Drawer-style locks require the use of the special arm. (the following pictures show an earlier version of this tool, but it works the same way)

1. Insert the arm alongside the drawer, then close the drawer as far as it will go.

2. Hold the drawer jammed and pull out the arm.

3. Close the drawer.

Testing & validation

Testing has been done on locks like these or these in various stores in the Czech Republic, Germany and Ireland. All parameters of this tool have been carefully selected to make it truly universal, hopefully worldwide.

If you encouter any issues or oddities while using this tool, I'll be happy to hear about your experience. Feel free to use these test samples with varying coin diameter and report your findings.

Sorry to hear that! Are you by any chance printing this from PLA? If so, definitely try PETG (or even nylon if you have any).
