Description

This modern lamp allows you to illuminate your desks with two configurations: a frame to accommodate an LED strip or a phone holder.

There are multiple adjustment points:

  • Easy attachment to the desk using a clamp with adjusting screws;
  • Ability to rotate the entire structure by 360 degrees;
  • Each arm allows rotation from -50° to +50° approximately;
  • The LED frame adjustment arm can also rotate by 360 degrees;
  • Hooks are available to secure the LED power cable or the phone charger cable (max. Ø 4 mm);

Please note, two M3 screws (length up to 8 mm) are required to screw the LED frame cover. The hole that allows the power cable to enter the frame is 4.5 mm. If you are not able to solder you can use a led strip with the connectors already prepared, but there is a risk that you will not be able to get the cable through the hole.

Ver. 1.01: Added a new optional version of the screws that allows them to be tightened using a 24 mm spanner.

Ver. 1.02: Modified clamp screw (Thanks to @miao_o)

I've printed my own version using a mix of Sunlu PETG and Bambu Lab PLA Tough. This is the result:

Only this screw is round-headed and cannot be screwed in at all. The other screws are fine.

Oh I am sorry... keep in mind that the tolerances I left are >.2 mm so it really depends on the filament and the specific printer. If you don't know how to edit the STL I'll add a RAW with higher tolerances :)

My English isn't good enough to describe it properly. The problem isn't the tolerance, but that the conical part on the top of the screw is too wide, preventing it from being screwed in. If I cut the top layer of the screw into two conical sections and print them, I can then screw it in and glue the two ends together. It's recommended to change the top half of the screw to be narrower than the width of the thread.

I see. I loaded a new updated print profile and added the RAW files with a new version of the screw (Clamp 3A and 3B). If you want, go ahead and try printing. Thanks for your help.

Hi, thanks for the review. In the RAW I had added a screw with a 24 mm metric keyway. Let me know if it can solve your problem :)

What LED are you using? Seems kind of important to know

Hi, in my case I used a simple LED strip I had. The hole that allows the power cable to enter the frame is 4.5 mm. If you are not able to solder you can use a led strip with the connectors already prepared, but there is a risk that you will not be able to get the cable through the hole. If you have this need I can adapt the model and make a version with a larger opening. Let me know :)

This design looks fantastic! Would you be willing to share the source CAD files? I'd like to design a base for it to simply sit on a desk and a few different heads to mount different objects for a project I'm working on. Thank you!

Is the smartphone holder only intended for the upright position?

the arms great, but the phone holder needs a rework, very little functionality and it only faces sideways
