Description

This is my Voronoi edition of the Bambu reusable spool. Retains the filament marker inserts from my Honeycomb spools along with filament retension holes for re-spooling and tab for use with bambu refills. The tab can be easily cut off if needed.

I have also re-sized this slightly adding 1mm to each side. Using a 100% infill (only adds 15g of filament per side), this brings its weight to match the OEM bambu spool as seen in the photos. The spool runs perfectly in the AMS.

Filament markers can be downloaded from my Honeycomb edition spool - https://makerworld.com/en/models/73599#profileId-105962

thanks for sharing this model. your spool design works great for refills. I do have an issue with the reapooling. I printed this in PLA+ and I found that the soool swells a bit after respooling and will fit extremely tight in the AMS causing it to error. I’m printing a set in PETG now to see if it works better. what are you guys using to print this. thanks

Hi, I can’t say I’ve ever noticed it swelling, I use them in my AMS all the time. Did you dry the filament after respooling, wonder if the spool warped?

Replying to @andythilo :
I believe they're talking about the way that if you re-spool too tightly, the filament pushes out laterally on the spool walls. This seems like it would be a problem with any of this style of "minimal" spools, not anything specific to your design, (though i wonder if the voronoi pattern allows for a little more flex than some of the other patterns used...) Maybe test that a bit if you ever revisit this design...

I had suspicions of this model that it will be hard to print and it will take ages to do so. Not that hard. Took ages, yes. But at the end - i think this is the coolest re-usable spool I have now.

Printed with Bambu Lab ABS - 3 spools so far without any issues. Works great in AMS. Prints in a bit under 2,5 hours for each spool side.

I love how efficient this print was. I would say that Plate 2 needs a little more support on the connection bit. because that broke off while I was getting the support material off.
