Description

All about this projects: Birdfeeder 4.0 and Birdfeeder 4.5

Video assembly instructions:

!!! Information for the fine print:  This model does not need supports. Use our 3mf file. We put a large brim for better adhesion of the print. If you are using stl file, add at least a 40mm brim in your print setup. At the same time, it does not speed up printing to a higher speed than is set.  make sure the PEI sheet is properly cleaned and for better adhesion use a spray or whatever you are using !!!

Update 28/1 - This model should not be a problem to print without support. Anyway, since we see that some of you have a problem printing this model, we are adding ready-made 3mf profiles with added supports. They are tree-like and set on critical spots.

Support Issue:This model definitely needs supports. Overhangs were very bad, and it got knocked out of the bed even with a brim. Got this, and a lot of spaghetti. I tried 3 times printing this with PLA and PETG. I give up now.

Hi Kalpik, did you use our 3mf file? We were included large brim for better adhesion. Do you have clean pei sheet? And as you see here in comments, this model doesn't really need supports :-)

Yes, I did use the 3mf file. The brim was as big as the one in your photo, but still it got knocked out. The build plate is completely clean also. I don't have any issues with any other prints.

Hi again, it can be problem related to your printer. As you can see in statistics. it was printed 200+ times. From 400 downloads. We know about big overhangs. as in your photos bottom part is not nice, but we were counting with this. Its bottom and this is just functional design, thats why angle is on the edge of printing. Problem can be caused by warping and your noozle is hitting print constantly and then it will peaal of the plate. Try from otheer PLA, or cool it changee temperature.

Without support almost impossible to print. It works without but the finish is not 100%...

Nice model! Just the overhangs are a bit tricky and are turning out not so nice. Still love it!

I printed 2 of them, one in PLA without supports, the other in ASA with supports. Everything worked on the first print. Thank you

Printed twice. First time it printed flawless and it’s beautiful. The second print spaghetti at 84% what a letdown :( Love the model though and I will try again.

Hi, this is not a birdhouse, just a feeder. Eat and fly away. We also discussed it with local ornithologists :-D

Same, I’d love that. I’d have to put it in a spot where it would be exposed to rain a lot getting the seeds and stuff quite wet.

Printed a few with supports and it turned out great! I found that setting the printer to 50% gives the best results. Printed on an X1C. Pics are of white and another in Bambu glow in the dark. It is very bright! I shared my timelapse and final results here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohJZlK3q--c
