Additional to your 3D printer you will need a led lightstrip with usb and a switch or a smart one. I just bought one with a switch between LED and USB connector. The LED strip should be a COB one for a smooth light gradient.
I was inspired by another model which forbid commercial usage by license. So i made a different and completely new one. Feel free to make money of this one :)
Also this model uses a led light strip fot light all around the shade instead of a led only on the bottom.
The model this was inspired of: https://makerworld.com/de/models/1212929-d-lamp#profileId-1228178
Printing
- print one outer shell
- print two inner diffusors
External parts
You will need to buy a 0,5m led strip. I recommend a COB one because it will result in a smoother light.
Your LED should have a build in switch or smart functionality.
Assembly
- thread your LED through the outer shells hole where your power cable will exit the lamp
- unwrap the sticky protector film of your LED
- Stick the LED on the inside center rail path all around, starting at the hole where your cable will exit the lamp
- When you are one turn around you can either cut off the excess led strip (!!! only use the cut lines of your LED). Let the few excess cm you can not cut because of a missing cutting line just overlap the beginning of the LED.
- Take one diffusor and squish it on the long side so it shrinks in height. Now slide it inside the outer shell. It will snap in place
- Do the same with the second diffusor. It will not expand fully but keep in place in its desired waven form
