This model is all original work based upon the Grimdark aesthetic. I modeled it off of original artwork that I have been looking at and thinking of since I was 12…in 1995…geez I'm getting old. This model is a moving prop chain sword that might be exactly what you need to complete your armory! Its been a few weeks in modeling and making this prop really work the way I wanted it to work, so thank you to all my followers for your patience!
This version is semi-mobile insomuch that the chain can rotate around in the track once fully assembled. The model in the photos is printed with BambuLabs PETG HF in grey, and the model in the primary profile is presented in BambuLabs Matte PLA. I know that if you choose to use the PETG, that you should make sure that your filament is properly dried as per recommendations and that your build plate is freshly cleaned. The model in the photos was printed on a BambuLabs Smooth PEI plate. Another suggestion if you are choosing to use PETG is that you make the Bambu printer run in “silent” mode for the first layer or two to make sure the parts adhere to the bed well. I did this and once the first layers passed my quality check I turned the speed up to standard and everything worked great. If you are using PLA then I do not think that this is a necessary step. These parts are arranged for a P1S or X1C, and A1mini arrangement is forthcoming.
You can freely choose to use a Textured PEI plate, it should not affect the print quality, these parts are arranged in order to “hide” the surface that contacts the build plate.
Attached is a link to a Google Document where I walk you through the assembly of this model. For more adventurous and experienced creators that have a larger budget for non-bambu labs electronics and parts there is a link in the Google Document to ratjob's personal Patreon that will have the more advanced model (different from this makerworld exclusive) as well as parts list and detailed build guide for a motorized version of this model. I have chosen to house that model in a different location because it requires non-bambu parts and a skill set that may prevent the average maker on Makerworld from enjoying this model.
This model can be assembled with nothing but glue, and two 30mm M3 Screws so it is a bit more accessible to the average maker. if you want the more advanced model, then check out that link in the build guide. Hope you enjoy!
