Description

I designed this lamp shade to have a a clean, sleek look without taking up too much of a footprint. It's meant to be used together with a light bulb socket/housing. I personally use IKEA HAVSRIS cord set (Canada store, US store) with a 2700K LED bulb.

 

This model prints in two components:

Lamp base

  • Hollow inside makes it easy to install the light bulb socket. The bottom back of the base has a cutout to fit a cord.
  • The hole for the bulb socket is 40.5mm – this fits the IKEA HAVSRIS cord set perfectly.
    • You can easily print your own adapter rings for a perfect fit of the socket of your choice.
  • Model photos show a base printed with R3D PLA Pro Matte (dark navy blue) filament.

Lamp shade

  • I've gone through several print iterations to land on what I think is the perfect shape, size and print settings for the look and feel of this shade.
  • Prints in spiral vase mode at 0.6mm outer width using a standard 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Important note: The vase is printed with an inner brim. Carefully break the brim off after the print has finished and cooled down.
  • For assembly, the shade simply slides into the base for a snug fit. You may need to gently push it down to distribute it evenly. Refer to model photos if you are unsure of what the final assembly should look like.
  • Model photos show the shade printed using Sunlu High Speed PLA (white) filament. Any basic, white PLA should work well for this.
