Description

A desiccant dryer that snaps into a Bambu Reusable Spool

  • Holds more than ½ Quart/ 1 pound/ 450 grams of desiccant, or can be packed with silica packets
  • Print your favorite spool insert to add a little more desiccant or hydrometer
  • Divided space to allow more drying surface area of the desiccant
  • Easily pour from your desiccant holders straight to the dryer
  • Securely fits in a Bambu Reusable Spool
  • Slot cut out to fit properly
  • Arrow indicators (mark over them) to easily indicate the lid orientation

In the pictures:

  • I use 450 grams of desiccant in my system, that's what's in the dryer
  • I store my desiccant in a cereal box, so when it's done drying, I just pop it open inside the box

Printing/ Using

  • I recommend PETG so it can be dried up to 70 C - I have used PLA drying systems in the past, and it just never dried the desiccant well
  • Make sure the slot from the dryer and the spool are lined up when assembling
  • It's easy to tell where the lid is when opening, but arrows are also printed on the shell
    • I used an acrylic marker to color them in and see them better
    • DO NOT open it upside down - the lid does NOT secure to the lid - it is a very loose slot fit
  • I have a Sunlu S2 dryer that does not rotate on its own, so I occasionally open it and spin the spool to change up the surface area and allow moisture to quickly dissipate
  • I have a hydrometer spool insert so I can have a second temp/moisture reading inside the dryer

Printed with generic ABS using Bambu Lab ABS filament profile (adjusted to 245°C nozzle as recommended and 100°C bed temp to increase chamber temps to somewhat around 55-58°C temp). No warping, clean print, no stringing (except tiny whisps). Overall, fitment was great. Yet to test on Bambu Lab reusable spool.

thank you for the 5 stars! Please be aware in the future that ratings are for the model themselves, not filament or printers.

Oh, I am terribly sorry, I did not know. I literally just got my P1S last Thursday so I am really new with BL and MW and your design was the first rating I gave but it still deserves the 5 stars, simple yet functional design. I like it!

Great print, could be a bit tighter on center of spool, but I like the model a lot!

Hey! Thank you for the feedback and the boost!! I intentionally left the center a little loose since the Bambu spool is solid there. I wanted to maximize the area that the moisture could escape.

that makes sense then! also just one more bit of feedback. it would be really nice aesthetically if the lid matched the width of the rest. again great model! boosted again!

You're the best ☺️ I'll have to check my model and my print when I'm home. It's been a while since I made it. I know I made it with a loose-fit tolerance since the spool holds it shut.
