Perfect as an display piece or an engaging kinetic sculpture, NeoHexa Metropolis blends design, technology, and movement into one mesmerizing experience.

Printing & Assembly Instructions

Ckeck the attached pdf for detailed instructions.

Printing Tips:

  • The streets require significant support structures. To make removal easier, I’ve slightly raised them above the plate. You can lower them if you want to save support material, but removal will be more difficult.
  • For a glossy finish, reduce the print speed of the outer walls significantly. (These settings are already included in my print profile.) I used Bambu Silk+ Filament for that.

Assembly was long and stressful, making sure I had everything oriented properly since I was super gluing as I went lol. Not firing it up until tomorrow so let’s hope it works! great model! I have a couple more buildings to put up but I’m going to do that tomorrow, I’ll update pictures then!

woahhh, this is freaking awesome! thanks for sharing. actually you can build it first without glueing, it worked well until i was trying to relocate the hole thing. maybe i have to write this too.

no problem man! I was just worried the whole thing would crumble by me doing something stupid if I didn’t glue it lol. I updated the pictures with the rest of the buildings. still need to clean up some stringing and reprint a couple messed up pieces but it came out pretty good!

I bought some copper ball bearings for it which I think will looks pretty cool. I can’t find my stash of 1500 steel 8mm bearings and I was too stubborn to buy something I already have so I decided copper would look better anyways. I’ll share pictures later haha

i think it would be cool, since for me i really enjoy 3d printing since you don’t (usually) need extra hardware. but see what the community wants, and if you end up making it, i’ll be one of the many to leave a great review on it😀

I went to print but it says incompatible printer and only has an A1 option. Is that something I'm doing wrong? lol.

Which printer do you have? An A1 mini profile is in the making, for all other printers it should work.

thanks for the feedback. I actually have to ask in the bambulab community forum, why this is limited on the A1, although I made it avaiable for all the others too. Thanks!

Great job, Lots of fun and the directions were very helpful. Ran into a couple of issue assembling but I am sure it was me being in a hurry. Grass on the large blocks have to go a certain way for the parts that stand on them, missed that. And the rafts on the tall black marble risers I mistook for actual part or the print so didn't work for the first little bit till I figure it out and removed them. Doc has me down for several weeks so this has been a most welcome distraction! ( I circled the areas i was talking about just in case anyone else missed it also} Thanks

It took me about a week or so to make this marble run. hands down This is an awesome marble run and it was fun to make. Do follow the instructions before gluing because once it's glued it's glued lol.

I've only printed the city so far, it looks really nice. I had a few issues with some pieces thought, so I've added some manual supports to one part in order to get a clean print.

An awesome model. I'm so glad didn't make the standard Bambu marble run and this came along!
