Description

Feel free to make custom keychains and give them to family and friends, or even sell them if you would like.  You can use the MakerLab customizer to make it how you like it or even use the OpenSCAD file itself to get more custom on fonts. (Instructions at the bottom on how to change the font to any of the available fonts on MakerLab).

OpenSCAD

You can also download the OpenSCAD file and use it with any fonts you have downloaded onto your computer - download OpenSCAD here.

  1. Download OpenSCAD from the website for free at the link above.
  2. You can download fonts for free all over the internet, but follow licenses appropriately.  Install any font to your computer, and then that font can be used in OpenSCAD.
    1. https://www.wikihow.com/Install-Fonts-on-Your-PC
  3. Open this file and change any of the parameters in OpenSCAD, similar to how you would change them in the MakerLab tool.
    1. Only change the Parameters from the Parameters toolbar on the right side of the screen.  It's not recommended to edit the code.
  4. Then when you are done, press F5 (or “Design”, then “Preview”) to verify the script processes correctly.  Let it finish loading.  Then press F6 (or “Design”, then “Render”).
  5. Click “File” and export it to a 3MF file for use in your selected slicer.

MakerLab

Click on “Code” in order to expand the window.

Click on the box circled and then “Fonts” to access the font list.  Then enter the desired font into the Font Parameters.
