____________

An original rainbow money box. Notable features below…

  • No AMS required.
  • Interlocks for each rainbow colour on the inside, to ensure rigidity.
  • No glue required (although will benefit from a glue and clamp if you're a perfectionist and want to minimise gaps between colours).
  • Coin slot big enough to fit even a large coins, like the Australian 50c piece.

Optionally, you can line the bottom with some adhesive foam sponge to prevent the plastic base from sliding on hard surfaces.

Turned out nice in the end but assembling was a bit tricky, maybe some extra clearance in the white base plates would be good. Had to push in really hard to get it to sit right and then a few days of glue to hold it. I used a 3d starry plate so one side has this pattern. But overall nice, daughter loves it, thanks. p.s. don't print the threaded end with a 0.6mm nozzle it does not work at all, fine with a 0.4mm!

Love the colours! I'll look at adjusting the fitment a little to make things a touch less tight. I'm planning to add 'plugs' for all of the arched to slot into the base, not just the yellow arch, which will also remedy differences in tolerances from printer to printer.

Looks amazing. Perhaps I’ll update the design with some plugs on all arches, not just the middle one - that should stop easy disassembly. :)

Printing this now, looks great so far! Genuine question though, was there a specific reason for the high 25% infill and 4 walls?

Odd; that's not how I set it up. I just opened the print profile again and I'm still seeing 15% and 2 walls.
