Description

This model is100% print in place, with zero support. This box has a hinged design, and uses a detent system to keep the box shut.

This Box is was designed with the goal of learning to model 3D printable hinges in Fusion, specifically print in place hinges. I am working on a parametric version, with different configurations for size and section count.

I've printed this model with PLA and PETG with success. I have been printing this model with a .12mm layer height, but you can also use .2mm if speed/time is an issue for you. I prefer the .12mm because the hinges print a bit cleaner.

Dang. hmmmm I haven’t experienced that before and I’ve printed this design over 5 times. What printer are you using? also what material? Did you change any settings?

I am on mini bambu, tried another print and slowed the speed to 50, used white PLA and it did not go through! recalibration was also performed. I will try again tomorrow, invested in this print 😆😆😆

this box turned out well. Used PLA matte. closes well and is snug. do you think I can scale this up and the closing mechanism will work?

you can try. I wouldn’t scale down, also if gou scale make sure it’s the same ratio. I haven’t tried scaling this model, it was designed with specific tolerance.
