Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my designs, you can support my work with a boost!

Turn your empty Bambu cardboard spool cores and printer poop into Maracas!

You will need the printed parts, one cardboard core of an empty Bambu Lab spool as well as some 3d print poop.

Assembly is very simple: Fit both caps on the spool and screw the handle into the hole. This design ensure a reliable fit and prevents them from opening by accident.

A1 poop is louder than the poop from the P1/X1 series. To get a more authentic sound, you can consider experiment with different filling like rice or little stones.

To make sure the handle is very sturdy, even when printed from Matte PLA or other weak filaments, I increased the wall count. If you attempt to print it with standard settings, it might break easily.

I have never seen yours - with the shape I didn't have much wiggle room since this was an entry for the empty spool contest. But Caca Maraca... That's even better, lol.

a video would be nice, I don’t usually print instruments unless I know how they sound

It would be easy to find out: Place your poop into the empty filament cardboard ring (the amount of poop you add will dictate the sound. If making 2 maracas you might want to weight the poop and place it evenly), put 2 plastic lids and shake it to your heart's content, then if you like you print.

What @user_797831280 said is spot on. Also, you can use whatever you like instead of poop to get a much nicer sound.

combined to a single plate as I only printed single color, but prints great. wonderful use of what's otherwise trash materials. I'm donating mine to school groups for music classes.

Absolutely, they also work well with rice! But you should cover the holes in the cardboard spools with tape. ;)
