Boostin' Makes Me Feel Good

This is a full size replica of Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7. Assemble the components with an epoxy adhesive to ensure sufficient strength. For best results, fill gaps in components with bondo or wood filler, then sand and prime, then apply colour. I also have several smaller versions. It can be fragile where the handle meets the hilt. If you have filament to spare, and want a more robust model, I would consider increasing the infill percentage on the handle/hilt.

If you would like Materia to accompany your Buster Sword, here is a model for Materia which fits into the slots on the sword: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1297197-materia#profileId-1328787

Doing the 'mini printable full size' version on my P1S. Has anyone had issues with the first plate, with the materia slots, having the attached stringing issues? I wouldn't think it's adhesion considering the rest of the plate was fine, and the upturn is so slight I'm not really sure what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I see the problem. Super sorry, I made a small fix, that seems to have caused an issue. It should be fixed now. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Good print, added some PETG transparent into the holes as materia. Learn from my mistake and don't try to swing it around...

The hilt printed fine, but the next segments were too high, so I had to print in diagonal

Thats strange. Im not seeing that on my end, and I haven't heard of anyone else encountering this problem. Is there a chance that you may have altered the scale? What printer are you using?

P1S...but I just did regular print with no alterations. It's okay I suppose, It' still coming out nice, I just added some vertical supports so it doesn't tip over. This is v.1. Version 2 I'm going to add some circuitry. I saw the orb idea for the material, so I'm going to add some LED's to it.

So I did some looking into it on my end. It seems that the X1, P1P, and P1S are showing a print volume 3mm shorter than the A1. I was under the impression that they all had the same print volume of 256X256X256. In Bambu Studios It shows it fitting on the A1, but not the X1, P1P. I only have an A1, so I haven't been able to print it on a P1S. Can you, or anyone else confirm the print volume of the P1P? Is there something that I am missing? Edit, I have created a specific profile for the P1P, P1S, X1, and X1 Carbon. There seems to be a height issue that I do not fully understand. Until I do, I recommend people operating one of those devices to use the new profile specific to those machines. and thanks "user_2688403588" for brining this to my attention.

how do you fill in gaps? what’s the proper way to sand and paint?

wouldn't necessarily say theres a proper way, its down to how you want the finished look, I just used polyfilla for the gaps, sanded down with 120 grit then smoothed with 400 grit sandpaper then primed it with spray paint. now finishing it off with standard paint for details
