Description

Some people were having issues with removing the supports from the old model. This is a completely redone Cross Easter Egg. It now has both sides open, I have increased the Z-Top distance slightly on the supports, and I have made the cross, cloth, and shell thicker. I have included some photos of how I took the supports off and the tools I used. I have included an .stl file and a color .3mf file under the Download STL/CAD Files section. This has a free commercial license for those who wish to sell their printed models.

NOTE: 3-27-25 The cross has been reinforced to reduce the chance of breakage.

It took a couple tries, but I like a challenge. First attempt I grabbed the cloth instead of the support. I have done some work of my own to add a LED candle. Nice design.

Brilliant with the tea light. If you upload your profile with the tea light it will be a wonderful contribution! 🙂

Not sure if it is my printer settings for my filament, but mine had some stringing inside and left the cloth missing in a few spots. still looks good though! thanks!

I had to dry my filament for about 18 hours before I printed. You might want to play with the temps a bit, I have done that on a few of my prints based on the filament I use (Elegoo especially needed to be raised about three degrees.)

I had to manually paint supports under that cloth and slice a few times for it to get it correct. printing now with the fixed supports. I will update once completed. Here is a picture of the designers print profile that missed supports under cloth on one side. Designer will need to update their profile with supports under that side of the cloth.

It turned out great. I printed it in a rainbow silk PLA. I did have trouble removing the supports from the draped fabric part… the cross ended up breaking off right at the base, but that actually made it easier to finish removing the supports, and I just glued it back in when I was done.

I am working on trying to make the cross stronger.

Fun print! Your additional pics of removing the supports helped me because I am very new at 3D printing. Thank you!
