MODEL INFORMATION

This is a great model to put in plastic easter eggs instead of candy.  Make them in different colors and let the kids match, trade, and share them.  So simple, but so iconic.

My bambu pla silk behaved strangely and crumbled in my hands :-(

did it split at a single layer line or multiple layers? I think I have that same silk at home. were you using a X1C/P1S/P1P or A1/mini? I have a P1S and A1 so I can check either. that’s the first time I’ve seen that. how much of that silk have you run before?

hi, just pla basic everything is ok, I think it's a problem with plastic, because I asked friends who else has the same plastic, they say yes unfortunately pla silk two-color plastic can be thrown out from the Babmu company

I haven't had the best of luck either and the translucent PETG isn't my fav either. I've been rocking Polymer Silk and one from 3DHoJor off Amazon. As long as it's nice and dry, not issues. I also do manual calibrations and profiles for ALL non-Bambu filament. It takes a while but saves on the waste and headache later.

correction it does pass through

That should pass completely and easily. Make sure you removed all of the brim and look for any stringiness inside the white portion that it could be hanging up on. You probably just have burr on one of the pieces. I mean this model shoots through the body.

There are small artifacts on the overhangs (outer part of the egg, top of the cutouts at the bottom). Besides of that, nice model, thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. If you are printing more, try enabling adaptive layer heights and make sure it shrinks the height on those layers. The angle should be fine and the brim is there to keep the bottom from wobbling before it connects the egg belly, especially on an A1 or A1 mini. I do appreciate the honest constructive feedback.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely try enabling adaptive layer heights next time. The artifacts aren’t a big issue, I just noticed them after closely examining my prints. They’re visible in the photos attached to the model description, so I wasn’t too concerned. Thanks again for the helpful advice!

I ended up sizing the print up a good bit but it printed perfectly. fun little egg. also if you put it in upside-down and pull the outer up super fast the inner spins like a top! family loves them.

I haven’t tried Sunlu silks yet. I’ve stuck to Bambu (not a lot of options) and Polymaker.

Flawless print. I used the .16 optimal setting and Isanmate matte frosting cake filament.
