Hello friends,
I ordered a light strip for my A1 on AliExpress. Since everyone wants to save money these days, I opted for an inexpensive version from China – for just €1.59. When the strip arrived, I was really impressed by the quality. However, the adhesive wasn't particularly strong – just like with the more expensive models.
The problem: The currently available models do not fit the Chinese light strip. It has 13 LEDs, while the more expensive versions have 14 LEDs and a different shape. Therefore, I designed my own strip!
The holes for the LEDs are elongated slots to ensure an optimal fit – after all, there are always certain tolerances with LED strips. I own three A1 printers myself, and the model fit perfectly on each one.
I'll link you to the light strip I ordered. But basically, all strips with 13 LEDs from Temu, AliExpress & Co. should fit. I'm really thrilled with the look and fit – but see for yourself! 😊
Furthermore, 2 wood screws are needed: 3x20mm
Perhaps some of you are wondering why the rear part is so thick – this is deliberately designed to prevent sagging in the long term.
Assembly is incredibly simple: Simply place the light strip in my holder, insert it from below into the X-axis mount, put the caps on from above and secure it on the left and right with two 3x20 screws – and everything is assembled! 😊
Now simply secure the cable to the cable of the X-axis and lead it back to the printer. Plug it into the free slot there, where a second AMS could be connected.
I wish you lots of fun with the model and a bright, clear view! As always, I would appreciate a nice comment and a like – and of course a boost! 😊
