This design is optimized for 8mm diameter bolts, rods, nuts, and wing nuts that work well together (based on my printer settings) without requiring cleanup or modifications. Please note that rendering and compiling longer components can be calculation-intensive, so be patient during this process.
Some default settings, like the nut's outer diameter, are intentionally slightly larger than the bolt diameter to ensure a snug yet hand-tightenable fit. A 0.8mm difference is often ideal, but this may vary depending on your printer, slicer, filament, or other factors. Minor cleanup around socket openings might also be needed, depending on your first-layer print settings.
For best results, I recommend printing a test bolt and nut pair first and adjusting as needed. Use slow print speeds and solid infill for optimal quality. Printing multiple parts at once can also improve layer cooling.
When printing threaded rods, use a 2mm brim for stability. Rods up to 150mm in length should print well, but you can extend this by using nut joiners. For example, an 18mm-tall nut can securely connect two rod pieces.
