Unleashing Coffee's True Potential: Introducing the BooKoo 3D Printed Electric WDT Distribution Tool

We are excited to introduce our innovative 3D-printed electric WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) distribution tool, designed to revolutionize coffee puck preparation and deliver a consistently flavorful and well-extracted cup of coffee. Join us on a journey of coffee mastery with BooKoo's groundbreaking Electric WDT Distribution Tool.

Features & Value:

Consistent and Effortless Workflow:

Simply attach the BooKoo EWDT tool to your portafilter, press a button, and let the motor do the work, eliminating clumps and creating a level, homogeneous bed.

Electric Efficiency:

The model incorporates a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can be easily charged using a Type-C charging port, allowing for regular use.

Customizable Options:

The hardware kit provided by our Cooperative Partner - Bambu Lab includes longer needles, allowing users to customize the length to fit their specific portafilter height. Experiment with different needle configurations to achieve the perfect distribution for your coffee setup.

Enhanced Flavor Profiles:

Our electric WDT distribution tool ensures a more even coffee puck and minimizes channeling and over-extraction, leading to higher extraction rates with minimal variation (only 1-1.5% difference). This improved extraction delivers a remarkably balanced cup with enhanced sweetness, a full-bodied mouthfeel, increased complexity in acidity, and a wider range of nuanced flavors, all while reducing bitterness.

Experience the transformative power of the BooKoo Electric WDT and elevate your coffee experience to new heights.

Accessories

For your convenience, we've partnered with Bambu Lab's Creator Program to offer a hardware kit that includes all necessary components (excluding the 3D-printed parts shown in the main image). No soldering required - simply plug in the included electronics and you're ready to go!

Hello author, I have modified the model of EC680/EC685/EC885 for delonghi/51mm/ according to your model, and this model is still suitable for the electric kit on bambulab. Can I get your authorization and publish it on this site? Is that OK?

I am wondering if there is an alternate model for a 3-flap portafilter, like the one attached (58mm)?

All of my machines are 3 bayonet types, except for my flair. 54mm and 58mm, and the 39.5mm flair. So this doesn't fit any of my machines, and I have several to choose from. This is an incomplete design. Do you even know what brand machine it was tested with? I kind of like the design, too bad it wasn't designed with multiple brands in mind.

Would you be able to remix a 54mm with 3 of the holder lips, not two like here? Sage/Breville Barista Touch user here

Does anyone know what the Set Screws are used for?

good question, I think you could throw it against the wall while extraction of the coffee (1 screw= espresso till 5 screws it will be a really big americano)

I have a very similar problem, am trying to print it with ABS+ and it's just not a good model to be printed. Default slicing setup does not work (doesn't matter if I choose tree supports or regular ones). Poor design, not optimized for 3D printing.

I worked now this Support and it works well… did two of them.

Could use some minor improvements. The screws mounting the motor are a little short. That and dropping in the needles from the top seems a bit less accurate in comparison to something like the Umikot where they’re measured, top part is bent and they’re shoved up. Overall definitely a neat kit and hope there’s some neat remixes.

Do you prefer this or the Umikot?

Replying to @gosser96 :
Umikot is very snug both needle wise and on my decent and sworks portafilters. This one’s is just more fun to use lol. I mostly just use a moonraker since ground bean dust really does get into those gears though.

Is there a version for 54mm portafilters?

Would also be interested in smaller portafilters, as the Sage/Breville portafilters are 54mm

Only for 58mm portafilters so far. Sorry about that.

Oh wait what??? This only works for 58mm!? I have a 54mm as well. Please please make a version for 54! I already bought the hardware kit before I knew this. I don't think it was on Bambu's website that its only for 58.

Not impressed by the print profile. It looks nice in pictures and seems like a good idea but functionally not great... Had issues with removing supports, and for me it does not seem like its made with 3d printing in mind. Doesn't work very well at raking so over all a huge disappointment Tip to anyone looking to buy this; print all the parts first and see if you like it, because i didn't but had already bought the kit.

I had the same thing. Looks like the original model was made with different needles as the one from the Bambu kit do not fit.

Should the button and the gear "click" in place? mine seems very loose and will not stay in place, is this normal?
