Description

UPDATE: License changed to allow commercial use, please credit my design if posting elsewhere.

UPDATE: Added a new Base, Knob, and a Printable pin. No more need to buy a screw for assembly. Make sure if you want the model with the printed pin to use the 3 files named “Printable Pin” as the base and knob are different to accommodate the printable pin.

UPDATE: Added new styled base and knob for Multi-color printing. (Colors painted manually with Bambu Studio). The knob for the multi-color base is longer and may stick out a little if used with the standard base.

UPDATE: Added base with modeled threads but they may not line up and fit well with all jars. Again you are better off printing the bases without threads and using a lid that fits your jar. The threads in the model fit my standard mason and line up well, they may not work well with all jars!

Easy to print and Assemble Mason Jar Candy Despenser.

Only two parts to print, prints with or without supports. Uses one M4x20mm (or similar) screw to attach the knob. Sized for a regular mouth canning jar, uses the ring from the lid of the jar as threads.

Requires:

  • Regular Mouth Canning Jar (Mason Jar) with Lid Ring
  • M4 x 20mm Socket Head Cap Screw (unless printing the “printed pin” models)

Screw threads into the knob though the hole in the back of the base.

Make sure the knob still freely rotates when you install the screw, don't over-tighten or you will jam the knob. The screw should only be threaded in far enough to keep the knob from moving in and out of the base too much.

Prints without supports.

Screw is optional, but the knob may fall out without it.

Jar lid ring can be glued in place, but also fits fairly snug without glue.

Works best with small round candies like Jelly Belly's, or Skittles. Note: Peanut M&Ms dispense one at a time.

Only dispenses a couple of candies per turn by design.

Includes optional knob stl with arrows like shown in the pictures.

My design took inspiration from Mason Jar Candy Machine by Edgewood Moderns.

However it was designed entirely from scratch by me.

Update: Added .step file and fusion 360 archive. Please no commercial use.

Update: Fixed knob orientation in stl files. You can now print as orientated.

Update: Fixed issue with incorrect Multi-Color Knob stl

The back pin snapped when attempting to push it in. I had to change it to an angle with supports to print stronger and not have the layer lines right at the pressure angle.

I know very little about printing, but mine did that too. Is there a way I can get what you used, please?

Sure thing, looks like this is a common issue. I've added a print profile that only has the pin in my configuration: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1101623-simple-mason-jar-candy-machine#profileId-1249368

This printed and assembled very nicely. I made a custom top for my specific plastic jar.

Printed perfect. Profile is smooth, all parts and curves smooth and detailed. Ball jar screwed on perfectly which kinda blew my mind. Awesome!

Printed perfectly. I used Polyterra PLA, leaving the supports from the print profile in place. The part works and the kids are happy

I printed the Hema glass variant using transparent red PCTG from 3DJake, the print was flawless The machine now resides in the office and is frequently used by my colleagues The receptacle for the candies could be slightly larger Otherwise, there's only one problem: The glass empties far too quickly Thank you for making this model available
