Description

UPDATE 2/22/2025

I have added a new print profile that uses a clip on cover for the right side.

Some machines have tighter and some have looser tolerances.

The left side is more forgiving because there is a “wall” beside it that braces it.

The right side is “open” 

This clip on cover should remedy this issue of looser tolerances.

Nice and simple easy print dust cover for the Z Axis on X1C and P1S 

 

I found others barely or some hit the bed when it moved up. These just sit on top and has no clearance issues.

Great work so far, would have been better with a edge to clip on to the part

Thank you for the feedback! I designed these top resting covers because all the clip on covers I printed here on maker world hit my bed/plate on the right side. the left side had no issues. I actually designed a clip on for the right side (I'll add it to here) but I did both as top resting covers for consistency. you can see from my pic how close my bed/plate is. no room/reinforcement for an overhang or clip 😢

Fair enough, my brain stopped braining and couldn't find a way to fix it there, firstly thinking of some double sided tape. In the end, i cleaned up the bearing and bracket and eventually it clipped on the inside of the bearing place and now i can't move it anymore :))

It printed perfect! Only problem is that the left hand side fits snug, right hand side is really loose.

Hmmm I guess some machines have looser and some have tighter tolerances. Sorry about that! I'm working on a clip on cover for the right side as there is waaaaaay more clearance space there. Stay tuned.

These are great, but why did you do only the right side as a clip on, not the left side? (It could be that the reason is to avoid blowing it off with the fan) I would love to have the left side as a clip on as well...

Thanks! The reason is because it's too close to the bed... When it moves up past it it will catch an edge and rip off or snap the printed cover.
