Description

PRINT PROFILES:
The following are the only print profiles tested and approved by me. They are listed by the name I've given them in the print profile description. I can not guarantee the quality of any print profile posted by anyone other than myself.

  1. Darwinian Award

SUMMARY:
This model is an award trophy presented as DNA on a pedestal. The Cytosine and Thymine interlinks between the backbone is made with several strings that your printer can bridge. The front is blank so you can add text in Bambu Studio or whatever your favorite design software is.

To change the text in Studio, open the project in Studio and select “Objects” just above the settings. From there, scroll to the bottom where it says “text_shape” and right click that. It will have an option for “Edit text”. Then change the text and font to your liking.

Printing/Assembly:

If you decide not to use the print profiles, these are the settings I used.

  • Global Settings:
    • 0.28 Layer Height (This is a hard requirement or the strings wont come out right)
    • Seam: Aligned (This can be set to back if you prefer the front to be as smooth as possible)
    • Bridge Flow: 0.96 (This is my default as the Bambu default is a bit too much for a good long string)
    • Wall Loops: 5 (This prevents the infil from being visible.
    • Infill: Gyroid 10%
    • Infill/Wall Overlap: 25% (This isn't 100% required, but it will improve the odds of the strings coming out right)

That's all there is to it. Follow my facebook page, RC3D, for giveaways and entry details as well as my latest models.
