Description

I designed this charging dock because I like to have my iphone in front of me in standby mode while I work to see all the notifications, read texts etc. without touching the phone. There are many great design out there but they usually are too tall. Since I use two monitors and bottom on starts right at the desk level I needed something really small so that when equipped with a phone and airpods would not obstruct the screen.

The dock is designed to work with MagSafe Charger for iphone and Apple Watch Magnetic Charger cable.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 2 versions of the dock on 2 build plates to choose from. One for old iPhone MagSafe 15W charger and one for new 25W version - see difference.

Dock consist of two parts - main body and bottom lid. Designed for print in place with just tiny bit of support that is easy to remove.

Assembly:

After printing, remove the bottom “door” insert iphone charger cable trough the larger top hole and press mag charging pad in place. To install airpods charger insert the charging magnetic “pad” trough bottom door first and push it from inside out so it sits flash with outside surface. Both charging pad holes have a cable groove groove so make sure the cables go in those grooves. Arrange the cables so they are fead outside trough a cable groove and close the lid.

Hey @simonLV, sorry to hear that. Are you using .4mm nozzle?

Hey, I have updated stl files and print profile. Now bottom cover has bit more spacing from the charger. Let me know if it helped. Previous version printed fine on my Bambu Lab P1S and A1 Mini with PLA and PETG-CF. What printer and filament were you using?

Nice design, I'm looking forward to printing. Just wondering, is this for Magsafe charger version 1 or the new high speed version 2? The reason I ask, I've designed a few magsafe docks and I ran into this recently. Magsafe v2 is slightly smaller if I recall correctly. Thank you for sharing this. Current design is for Magsafe charger version 1. I will include alternative files for v2 over the weekend.

Can't say enough good things about this dock. After printing half a dozen of the Scott's cool retro iPhone dock (trying to get the sizing right for iPhone with case), I have to say this simple elegant dock beats those for functionality. It's quick and easy to print, uses minimal filament so you can try lots of types. It looks super elegant, minimal and the interior can hide extra cable slack. Already printed 5 of these and love them. Just use a bit of removable gel tape to stick to your desk.
