Boost Me (for free)

If you love this model, please give it a like 👍 to help others discover it! And if you're feeling extra generous, a boost 🚀 would be amazing and help me create even more awesome designs. Don't forget to follow me so you don't miss out on new and updated models! Thank you so much! ❤️

With this easy-to-use OpenSCAD model, you can create your own HueForge custom frames with just a few clicks! Choose your desired shape and size and watch as your perfect frame comes to life.

But that's not all! thanks to the clever inserts on the back, you can add a variety of accessories to personalize your display: hang your frame on the wall, prop it up on your desk, or even connect multiple frames together to create a stunning gallery wall.

The accessories are versatile as they can be attached and detached according to your needs.
Printing a frame requires only a few grams of filament, in just minutes, you'll have a frame ready to showcase your creative design.

You can change the following parameters:

  1. Frame shape (rectangular or circular)
  2. Dimensions of your HueForge artwork to ensure a snug fit within the frame (you can either use glue for a more permanent bond, or rely on the precision fit of the interlocking design for a simpler, easily reversible assembly)
  3. Thickness and dimensional parameters of the frame's border and background
  4. Type (triangle or circle) and size of hook for hanging the picture on the wall
  5. …and much more!

The print profiles include ready-to-print frames in these sizes (height and width are interchangeable, e.g., 110x160 is the same as 160x110):

Rectangular (height*width = width*height in mm)

100x100, 100x110, 100x120, 100x130, 100x140, 100x150, 100x160, 110x110, 110x120, 110x130, 110x140, 110x150, 110x160, 120x120, 120x130, 120x140, 120x150, 120x160, 130x130, 130x140, 130x150, 130x160, 140x140, 140x150, 140x160, 150x150, 150x160, 160x160.

Circular (diameter in mm)

100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160.

*** Accessories ***

The accessories can be attached using the holes in the back of the frame.

There is a 0.20mm tolerance that should fit most: in case it doesn't, a little filing and/or some glue will do the trick (if you want to make the connection permanent).

Hook

The hook can be configured as part of the frame (if you are sure you want to hang the picture) or, using the appropriate accessory, you can connect the hook to the back of the frame.
You can hang your frame using two types of hooks: the traditional triangle hook and the circle hook. Alternatively, you can use a string, a magnetic sticker on a metal surface, or even a keychain (if the frame is small and light enough).

Triangular hanger

Circular hanger

Stand

To place the frame on a desk/table, you can use the available stands: you can download the one that best suits your needs, they are divided by angle (20°, 30° and 40°) and length (3cm, 5cm, 7cm, 9cm, 11cm, 13cm).
There are two connection modes, the first using the holes under the frame, so the stand is fully supported and horizontal to the surface, or by connecting them to the holes in the middle, where the stand will only rest at its end on the surface.

Connector

With this accessory, you can connect multiple frames together, allowing you to create compositions.
For example, you can hang one frame on the wall and then attach all the other frames to the first one.

When generating for some reason the accessory holes are put on the front face of the frame. I can turn them off but when turned on they are on the face of the frame, am I missing a setting somewhere? See picture

I don't see any issues from this view. Try rotating the camera, that should show you how the Hueforge background is correctly aligned.

Lets try it this way... in the picture attached.. as the frame sits in that picture is the hueforge image suppose to lay art side up right there in the frame in that orientation? I am putting the hueforge image face down in that orientation as the frame has overhangs and those over hangs should over hang the picture face.

Yeah I see.. the way these frames are you are having them like lay them down onto the frame and laying on the over hangs .. rather than the over hangs overhanging the picture itself (more like what a real frame does.) So the holes are on the side I am using or believed should be the face of the frame rather than the back side.
