This adapter threads onto a normal 1 gallon container allows the common 5/16" tubing used in hobby sap collecting to fit snugly into into it.

So I always thought you had to get sap from sugar maples to make maple syrup, but a few years ago I learned you can make maple syrup from big leaf maple trees! So Wiferneer and I gave it a try, turns out it's not that hard and the end product is delicious!

We just tapped our trees last week, and one problem we have is that the caps for the one gallon containers we use to collect our sap get brittle and crack when left outside for awhile. (We find the 1 gallon containers are a lot easier to hike out with than a 5 gallon bucket). 

Not a huge issue, but rain and other things were able to get in through the cracked caps, so I made this doodad in Fusion 360 and it's been working great the last few years. Plus if you print it in a bright color it makes it really easy to spot the containers.

It's best to print it in PETG or ABS, no supports are needed. I used Bambu orange HF-PETG for this batch. 

The ones I made in PLA did work, but they didn't like the cold and eventually cracked. 

This is not in direct contact with the sap and the sap gets boiled down into syrup, I don't believe it to be a food safety issue but use at your own discretion.
