The heraldic lily
It is in heraldry a common figure, consisting of three stylized leaves held together by a band. The central leaf is pointed at the top and bottom, the outer leaves hang down and are bent outwards at the top. The symbol is a stylized iris, which is only distantly related botanically to the lily (Lilium).
