Description

Update - Feb 2025

Check out V2.0 here. I've updated the back legs to now include an integrated channel for routing cables between your desk and monitor.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Ikea Lack Floating Shelves (or other 50mm thick x 260mm wide shelves)

A set of stands to convert a standard Ikea Lack floating shelf into a screen riser / monitor stand. Two stand pairs are sufficient for the small 30cm long and medium 110cm long (110cm pictured in photos). I'd consider using three stand pairs if using the larger 190cm shelf to avoid any unwanted sagging.

Elevators monitor by 150mm

The supports raise the shelf by 100mm, lifting your monitor to 150mm above your desk.

Dimensions

Assembled (One stand)

L: 284mm x W: 156mm x D: 50mm

Individual riser
L: 137mm x W: 156mm x D: 50mm

Joining Clip
L: 40mm x W: 25mm x D: 9mm

Designed to print on an A1 mini so the stands are split into two halves to allow the full 260mm of the shelf to be supported despite the mini's 180mm print bed. Halves are joined by a pair of snap fit plates so no fixings or tools are needed to assemble. Simply print the parts, click them together and then slide your Lack shelf into place.

Assembly / print instructions

  1. Each stand leg consists of a pair of identical risers and joining plates so you'll need to print two copies per bracket that you want i.e. if you want two stand legs you'll need to print four risers and four joining plates
  2. After printing align your pair of risers and join them together using the adapter plates. The plates should click into position quite easily and hold the legs together. Joining the legs isn't essential but helps to mitigate any risk of a bracket being knocked and the shelf falling.
  3. Once you have two (or more) legs assembled, slide them into position on your lack shelf and then set your desk up as you please.
    1. I'd recommend leaving Ikea's standard mounting bracket inside the shelf. It helps to maintain shelf stiffness and means if you want to in the future you can still mount the shelf to your wall.

The attached print profiles have one stand riser and one adapter bracket per plate for the A1 mini. It is possible to fit two risers and brackets on a single plate with supports enabled but it massively increases the print time (approx. 13 hours to make one full stand as apposed to approx 6 hours if printing on two plates)

Glad you like it. I have a version two live now which has an integrated cable channel to route your monitor cables etc if it would be of interest? If you wanted one you'd just need to print plate one and replace one of your existing leg halves 🙂 https://makerworld.com/models/1121077
