Description

Wife approved: Custom designed Leaf Lamp with a cascade of elegant leaf-shaped layers arranged like an open pine cone pattern.

Fits a E14 light bulb base. Mounting hole is 1 CM. I recommend using LED or some other Energy Saving bulb.

When assembled, the full size is about 25 cm in height and 30 cm in width.

Assembly is straight forward.

  1. Top and Bottom circles are the same. Mount the E14 light bulb base to one of them - this is now the top circle.
  2. Push fit connect top and bottom circles with all sides, alternating between A,B,A,B,A,B sides. Make sure all the slits are facing downwards.
  3. Push fit each leaf, so that they are pointing downwards, start from bottom and do a complete circular layer before moving upwards. Depending on your printer, they might require some force to connect, so take your time and watch you fingers so they don't slip. If the angle is off, just disconnect by twisting back and forth and they'll be easier to assemble properly the second time.

Will be printing a few different versions, with black and gold also. Love this! + Looks great + Easy to assemble + Works with E27 also if smaller lamp eg. Philips Hue + Perfect light flow in the room with this - Some of the leaves does not fit correctly with the ”arm” and can be moved by touching a little

awesome, thanx for sharing the photo :) I’ll see what I can do about the ones that arent tight enough, I had a couple as well, only on the multicolor version though. Might be a small adjustment to the profile i can make.

It's alot of work to create a mini version. But i am working on another design that I might make smaller. How small would you like it height, width ?

i guess it could be same size, just more plates , plates 2,3and 4 are probably problematic, how big are the pieces, they would probably fit 1 or 2 on one plate ?

I didn’t, but I did find inspiration from various pine cone / leaf lamps that you can buy in store. Google “cone lamp”, “pinecone lamp” or “leaf lamp”, theres tons. Like this one: https://www.woodsup.dk/nordic-pine-kogle-lampe-i-trae-valnoed/ I was originally inspired by the P.H Artichoke lamp

Yeah that design is like super similar :D But in the end this idea is also not my original one, saw some lasercut lamps like this and thought i can do it nicer with 3D printing. But yeah this is nearly a exact copy :D

Sorry you feel that way. I didn’t copy anything. I wanted a leaf lamp. So I decided to draw one. Seing as the P.H lamp is a Danish design and quite famous here in Denmark, i was drawn to it, I just wanted leafs instead. My take on it was to make the joints as simple as possible. There’s hardly many ways to make it simpler than what I did. If it’s too similar to your design, i’m sorry, I hadn’t seen your take on it till it was pointed out here. Cone lamps are a fairly common design. Kinda like every vase on any 3d printing site.

Can you post a link to a base that works with this beautiful lamp?

I bought one from the local hardware store. I can't find a match on any international sites. Here's a picture of it. The red mark is where I mounted the lamp. I did however find two parts on Aliexpress that might work together to do the same though. If you can't find any with the correct size to fit through the hole, let me know what size hole you need in the top part and i'll upload it to the model. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005560601127.html https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32931053035.html

In a pinch, you could just run the cable trough the hole and leave it at that.....

This look awesome! I think I'm going to start printing one today but I'm considering doing colors other than white. I see the main part of the leaf is only 6 layers at 2mm so going to print a few colors and test how the light comes through them.

It's a local brand: 3DE Premium - PLA - Snow White - 1.75mm. It’s really white, like photo copy paper white. The reason for the beige tone is the bulb i'm using. For comparison, check this print which is the same filament: https://makerworld.com/models/963628

It looks pretty good. Which filament did you use for yours? I can't tell if it's white or some beige tone.
