Description

Tolerance is pretty tight but i did not want the hinges loose and i wanted the lid to securely stay shut.

You will need to wiggle the lid back forth slowly until the hinges break loose.

The print takes about 36 minutes.

im glad you had success printing it! I was worried the tolerance was going to be too tight. also that carbon fiber bed plate makes the box look nice!

Great model! Great profile! But FYI, if you print this with a .2mm nozzle, it won't work!

hmmm interesting. good to know! I don’t have a .2mm nozzle yet so not sure how well tolerance is with those

Prints fine, and works great after the initial hard breaking of the hinge

I’m glad it worked for you. yea the initial bending of the hinge is tough but it keeps the lid from having too much slop.

This is a very well-designed small box that latches close. The hinge as the designer said fits tight with no slop. The 1st box I printed, the hinge was very tight, like it will break but like the designer said, just carefully move it back and forth a little at a time and it will move. I liked it and printed a 2nd box but this time with a different brand of filament and it made a big difference, this time the hinge was not difficult to move at all and came out nice. So, if the hinge is hard to break free, you might want to try a different brand of filament and check your printer settings.
