Description

Desiccant container for SUNLU modern “New Reusable Masterspool” with 62 mm inner diameter and 57 mm width.

Designer's note: this model is as great as ever, but I have improved and have followed your advice and comments with interest: "perfect fit, but could the model made lighter and faster to print?".
Yes, that's possible! To be precise, 149 % faster (1h27m > 35m5s) and 44 % (30.24 g > 17.51 g) lighter!
Check this out: SUNLU modern spool silica gel desiccant container

Precisely fitting desiccant container for insertion in the center of the spool.

With rim, without rim, with cut-out for thermo-hygrometer, without cut-out, you decide what you need. I personally use this model with rim and thermo-hygrometer.

Easy to print, no supports or sharp overhangs.

Ideal for storing in vacuum bags or cereal boxes.

Compatible with all spools of the same design.

Tested on the following SUNLU modern spool (as reference):

SUNLU PLA+2.0 Filament 1.75mm

By the way, this filament prints like a charm on my A1 Mini with AMS Lite and my P1S with AMS.

This model is part of the Spool desiccant holders collection. Do you have a spool that is not in the collection? Let me know and I'll take care of that!

How I create my models

I started developing 3D objects myself in 2010, when I got into 3D printing with Prusa Mendel. I still use the software I used back then: OpenSCAD. So if anything should not fit, let me know, adjustments are done with a few variables, because this model was also created from scratch in OpenSCAD.

The Model in the pictures was printed with Bambu Lab Basic PLA.

The concept is truly excellent, and the design is superb, but I experienced some stringing issues during printing This might also be due to my filament; I am unsure whether the model or my filament was at fault

These are perfect :D Is it possible for you to make a version that is 53mm inner diameter and still 57 mm width. That would be much appreciated as I have several different filament rolls that have those dimensions

For sure. Could you name me the filament brand please?

Replying to @Professional3D :
Sure, I just scaled them down to fit, with the consequence that the thermo-hygrometer doesn't fit. And if you make it 52mm it will probable fit one more brand("Flashforge"). The other brands I intend to use them on is "Easy print" and a cheap local store brand labled "Clas Ohlsson". The Flashforge and Easy print I have is PLA and the Clas Ohlsson is PETG :)

I just check on a Bambu Lab roll (PLA) and it will fit that one as well :D
