Description

4" OD (Industry Standard 3.96" OD in Actual Size) Ultra-Slim/Thin Exhaust Adapter for X1C/P1S with Verified Airflow

With just 1.73" (43mm) in depth, this meticulously designed, simulated, and verified ultra-thin adapter can support full 100CFM airflow and AMS Hub. When using with an external inline boost fan or air purifier, feel free to print with PLA or PLA+.

Important:
The air flow of this adapter is as good as a straight 3" air duct adapter. So, if using it with an inline boost fan or air purifier, please be careful of removing the internal activated carbon filer from the X1C/P1S printer or set the chamber fan speed at 100%. You do not want the temperature around the back area drops too fast.

2 x M3*14*5 partially treaded screws (M3-14 Step Screws) are needed, which is the same screw used for the hotend.

Secure Yet Easily Removable Mounting

  • The adapter mounts with screws, following the same official mounting positions and screw types outlined in the Bambu Lab Exhaust Pipe Connector Installation Tutorial.
  • Unlike the official connector, which requires mounting upside down for the X1C and P1S, this adapter includes correctly positioned mounting slots. This allows for effortless slide-in installation and removal, making maintenance or adjustments much more convenient.

Super Low-Profile/Ultrathin Design with AMS Hub and Full 100CFM Airflow Support

  • At just 1.7 inches (43mm) in depth, this ultra-slim adapter provides significant clearance, making it ideal for users who place their X1C/P1S on a workbench. The reduced depth gives more space for the printer movements after installing anti-vibration feet.
  • The complex aerodynamic duct and transition have been meticulously designed, simulated, and verified by an HVAC engineer using professional software (He designed this part). The bottleneck of the duct measures 5332 mm², sitting between the size of a 3” and 4” round duct. This size is sufficient for the chamber fan’s “questionable” (as described by the HVAC engineer) 93 CFM rating. The design minimizes airflow friction by accounting for the bend, which naturally introduces some frictional losses. The larger duct cross-section reduces velocity, resulting in less friction and allowing full airflow comparable to a standard 3” round duct. The design is available for download, and you are welcome to verify it using your own simulation software.

Standardized 3.96-Inch (100mm) OD Exhaust Port

  • Unlike other designs that use inconsistent 4-inch dimensions (either as the outer or inner diameter), this adapter adheres to the industry standard of a 3.96-inch (100mm) OD. This ensures superior compatibility with all 4-inch flexible ducts, as recommended by the HVAC engineer, making it a versatile and practical solution for various setups.

Installation:

Simply follow the Bambu Lab Exhaust Pipe Connector Installation Tutorial for X1C and P1S.

This optimized adapter not only addresses common issues found in other designs but also enhances airflow efficiency and ease of use. Whether you’re looking for better clearance, improved compatibility, or enhanced performance, this adapter is built to meet those needs. Feel free to share feedback or suggestions for further improvements.
