Description

Take to the skies!  Fly your fighter jet from your desktop with this joystick and fighter.

This design uses a gimbal and rods to control a mini fighter jet (based on an F-16).  Easy assembly using only rubber bands.  Only two parts printed on one plate.

Update 2/1: I've created a print profile where the model prints as multiple parts that are snapped and glued together.  Some printers may have issues with how much support the print in place gimbal and jet needs.  Assembly instructions added.

Cannot get this one to print properly. Tried 3 times, we’ve added more supports and slowed down. Every time the same area fails.

Which area fails? Which filament/printer?

The supports on the parts between the main component and plane itself fail. It’s not printing that section properly and each time it’s slightly different amount of success. It’s on our A1, PLA filament is dried and no other issues with filament printed with same right after.

Ah, ok. Did the bottom hook print alright (pitch control)? The next version, I planned to modularize the plane, which would make the printing less complicated in the interface region.

Printed the new version since the first one was failing. Appreciated the creator looking in to it and working on something new.

Printed great, the supports were tricky to remove and the model could use some lite work, but other than that a wonderful model.

Making few mods to create a A-series friendly print profile. Let me know if there are any suggestions to throw in there

You could possibly add a few different plane designs, and make some adjustments to shape of the stick to be more ergonomic. As for just the print profile, consider using gyroid infill at 6-7 percent (what I printed it at) this will cut down the filament usage and time, while still being a good weight.

PDF for modular lacks lots instrunctions. And the tolerance between pole behind plane and rotation stuff is too much, it deserve a guide or buckle to fix the plane direnction
