Description

Welcome to the v3 version of my ever popular Fully Modular Filament Spool Rack!

This model has had a few changes made with help from the comments on the previous version of my model, thank you to everyone who left their feedback in the comments!

List of Changes

Tighter tolerances
Improved geometry for better strength

No supports

Less print time

Less material required

Fully Printable

This model is 100% printable with the option to use external materials if you would like, this version also now feature printing without ANY supports. The holes for the rods are exactly 20mm, feel free to print the rods or use any 20mm object you might have available for it. I personally use some 20mm PVC conduit for mine.

Fully Modular

This shelf is fully modular and you can make it as small or as large as you want, it feels a lot like playing with redacted brick company.

If you like my models please do boost, it really helps and I appreciate it dearly!

Are the vertical supports supposed to be printed on their ends like this? Not much surface area touching the plate

Printet the edge Parts and used 19mm and 16mm wooden sticks to connect everything! Works like a charm and looks incredible! :)

Absolutely spot on racking. Printed out on an A1 mini so purchased some 20mm PVC trunking for the horizontals. Can fit 4 spools across an Kallax, which I'm using for the base of my moveable 3d printer bench. Love that I can disabemble and make them bigger once I have the room.

Given your usage, you could have omitted the vertical rods and the entire upper level :p

I spent a while trying to find the perfect modular system and tried a few, this is perfect, endless expansion possibilities. Printed great, PLA with TPU for the feet, 20mm conduit for the cross members, this was the perfect length for them to save any sag.
