Description

The toolhead is located right next to the cooling fan, so dust can easily accumulate. This seemingly small dust cover can tightly protect the yellow gear on the toolhead, and the curved surface design avoids the possibility of friction with the gear. You are worth a try!    ( I am challenging to create 100 practical models. Follow me to get update reminder )

Tips:

Applicable to P1 and X1 series, please use a scraper to pry the model gently because the edges are fragile.

FYI: The gear is exposed for a reason: Dust, dirt, and debris builds up on them over time as they pull filament through. The open slot is so you can monitor the buildup on the gear and hit it with some canned air regularly to clean it. It's part of the routine maintenance Bambu recommends. If you put a cover on and never check again you'll eventually end up with damaged gears.

Easily printed with Amazon's light gray PLA Basic. Finally, I added a micro-drop of the glue shown in the photo, thus ensuring that dust won't enter through this hole

You're gonna love finding out that the entire reason the gear is exposed is so you can monitor it for dust and debris build up from pulling filament through and so you can used canned air to blow it off to keep your extruder gears from damaging themselves over time.

right, but you can open the body extruder to inspect, clean, or blow with air the gears

Well, the point of the slot in the side is so you can blow canned air straight in without having to open up the tool head.

print okay, when OP says be careful with taking them out of the plate wasn’t kidding, almost broke off a corner but eventually got both of them out, another set of dust covers for both of my P1S’s blue theme of course 😆

Hello, are you using Bambu's PLA or PETG for printing? Because other brands of filaments have different shrinkage rates.

Top model, I initially printed it in PETG and subsequently in ABS & ASA, as somewhat higher temperatures prevail there and I didn't want to lose the cover during a print
