A few things that are important :

  • if you are going to scale down the tire ( I do not recommend it) be sure that you check the quality of the letters and stripes in your slicer.
  • if you gonna use your own print profile for the tire, make sure that you verify the bottom part of the tire in the slicer for any overhangs. If you see even a single blue line, IT WILL fail.
  • especially for the tire, it is very important to have the printer calibrated and the filament calibrated and dry. The bottom and top will be printed at 0.08 layer height (if you use my profile), so  there is very little room for error.
  • make sure that you are happy with the position of the seam. Use seam painting tool in Bambu Studio to customise it, if you do not agree with my choices.. This applies to  all components.
  • pretty much every mesh in this design is a high-res mesh. But this is especially true for the tire and the rim spokes. So depending on your computer, it might take a while to slice it. Have patience. I had to use hi-res mesh, otherwise the tire it would have been not a "cylinder" but a polygon with multiple faces.
  • I have not tested this design (the tire) with TPU. I guess it can be printed with TPU, but I haven't tried, so if you're going to do it... you do it at your own risk.
  • I personally printed every component, some of them multiple times. So, everything is tested and confirmed as viable 3D print object. Therefore, if something goes south, please don't blame the design.
  • the printing time for the rim decreases a lot if you use non-silk PLA
  • in the picture where you can see the back of the rim, that is a piece printed with a low-res mesh. In the print profile I uploaded a high-res mesh

The filaments I used:

  • tire - Bambu PLA Matte Charcoal & Esun PLA+ Gold
  • rim - Geeetech PLA Silk Gold
  • stand - Esun PLA+ Gold
  • stand label - Esun PLA+ HS Cold White & Bambu PLA Basic Red

The only post-processed object (30-45 min worth of sanding and 3 layers of clear sealer) is the tire, in the first 5 pictures.

I want to print this so badly but I do not have an AMS. Is there any way I can print this with separate pieces? Also, do you recommend matte black for the tyre or normal black?

I do recommend the matte filament, helps in hiding the lines much better than normal filament. You can print the tire completely black, paint the letters and the stripes and do not print the stand label.

Replying to @Gabi_L. :
I have a better idea. What if you could remove the lettering from the body of the tyre and have them print flat separately with 3-4 layers max, so they are flexible. Make a 1-2 layer indentation with the shape of the lettering on the tyre, so they can be then glued into the correct position. I believe it will make for far cleaner look. Would do it myself if I had better cad knowledge.

This looks amazing! What was your sanding process for the tire?

Thank you! Nothing fancy, just manual sanding with 140 sand paper, then 3 layers of clear sealant. The tire will came out pretty clean if you use my profile, so there's not too much work to do 😁

Quality thank you. Only question, did you then glue it all together once completed?

Thanks for the design, will you do the wet and intermediate options?

The "wet" version will be out in a day or two, I'm testing the final pieces. There are no plans for the "intermediate" option at the moment.
