Description

The season of love is upon us and with it brings several new parts for the Modular Lantern.

If this is the first time you've come across the Modular Lantern I suggest toy view it's main page here. It's designed to change throughout the year and encourages experimentation.

Boost Me (for free)

A boost is exactly that. A huge boost to my confidence and reason to keep creating and sharing in this fantastic hobby. Thankyou so much!

Many of the parts here require other parts so I shall go through them and detail where other parts can be found.

Slim Heart Handle

This can replace the slim handle found on plate 4 of the ‘Modular Lantern Optional Parts’ profile.

Wide Band Heart

This replaces the wide band handle found on plate 6 of the ‘Modular Lantern Optional Parts’ profile.

Large Heart Decorator

Simply clip this on top of a flat topper found on plate 5 of the ‘Modular Lantern Optional Parts’ profile. Use some glue along with the clip if you wish to lift the lantern with it, but if it's just a decoration the clip will be enough.

Small Heart Decorator

This replaces the ball that fits on top of the pyramid topper, or place it on top of the chimney hat. Just experiment :-)

Short Straight Top With Inserts

This new top (left) is compatible with the other straight top inserts, the main difference is that it does not have a cuboid on top (right), thus it is shorter. You can read about how to insert the inserts here.

As usual you can use clips or 6x2mm magnets to attach this to the lantern core. You can even place a Bambu Tea Light in the top to light the inserts more if you're using a tea light in the main lantern core.

Inserts

In addition to the above there is a bonus free print profile of inserts to match the theme.

More

I release a lot here for free on Makerworld but be sure to checkout my Patreon where there is much more, even some additional files for free members. You will find a few more files that extend this hearts series of inserts there:

Hello! I am having a bit of trouble printing one of the panels (the cherub). It's failed four times today! I'm using the A1 with black PLA Basic. I've tried reducing the print speed, but the hearts always mess up and lift off the plate. One of the prints did finish and it was mostly fine except for the bottom right corner, which had peeled off the plate. Any help at all is very much appreciated!

Hi Malia. Many of these inserts do rely on good adhesion for the fine details. The adhesion reduces over time as oils from your hands etc build up. I thought I was cleaning the plate well and bought a new plate when I hit this issue, just to find out later that I needed to be more abrasive when cleaning the textured plate. Hopefully the guide here will help you: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/filament-acc/acc/pei-plate-clean-guide
